CPU max temps?

Ok, so if the quad core conroes can run safely below 70 C why can't the dual cores?

they both can. Its just a recommended MAX. The dual cores are like 65 degrees celsius so about the samw. Otherwise it could have to do something with the space of the cores.............

Well, thats allowing for extra headroom.

I mean, my e6600 ran at 80-83c for 18 hours straight about 4 months ago, its still working fine today....

Those are just different temps that are recommended. 60 is recommended but it can still be safe a bit above that but probably not for long.

OC wansnt related. My Big Typhoon jarred loose one night after i moved my case a bit. I then let it SMP fold all night, then through the morning, till after school. I came home, turned my monitor on, saw 82c on TAT and just about died. I then realized that i must have jarred the BT when i moved the case a bit, damn you plastic pins......

I know this is a little off topic but i have a Athlon x2 4200+ and just whanted to know what the safe max temps are.I read on the AMD site that it could do up to 70c safely.So when i OC what should the max max be.Right now i hit about 50c at 100% after 10mins of orthos.
