Both are real.

The .95 version of core temp gets the temp from the core itself so its hotter. The older versions and other programs detect the temp from like the middle of the CPU.

Weird, what is your ambient temp?

Because 17C sounds simply unrealistic. Unless it is like 7C in your room lol.

And i would go with the latest version of coretemp

neither.

The core2DUo's have a few temparture sensors which (according to Intel are made for processor reference and arn't correct).

Intel recommends Milling a hole in the heatspreader and putting a thermal probe there for accurate temps

ambient in my place is like 15-17 celsious, i'm a person who'd rather be cold then hot, furnace has been off since feb and i live in canada
