ehh i was going to get the 4800+ over the 4600+ but i was super low on cash

well a 6000+ isnt really cheap nowadays

only 27 secs at 3.3ghz? i was ably to get 29.978 secs at 3ghz with my 3600+ and you have double the cache but nice oc man anything past 2.9ghz with my setup is very unstable i only got it to run super pi at 3ghz shortly after i BSOD .

I did a few more runs at 3.3 ghz and messing with ram speeds.

The 27 secs was in VISTA with ram at 667 running at 366hz...

Last night with ram at 412hz and cpu at 3.3 I pulled a 26.052 ... Im so close to 25 it hurts.

Anyhow im trying to figure out what background apps I can turn off in Vista for just plain functionality. Since it runs 50 background proccess normally.

I am still tinkering with this one and I think I could definetly get more out of it with more volts....

so far 26.052

AMD's 90nm cpus with the f3 stepping have a much higher clock potential than the brisbanes. I was able to push my 5600 to 3230mhz with an Arctic Cooling 64 while most brisbanes top out around 3.0ghz. I was able to get my proc all the way up to 3.3ghz, but it would fail prime95 after a few minutes.

Yeah its tough in Vista im trying to shut off as many background apps as possible. But your Intel takes the cake all around with SuperPI....

Any how I finally broke into the 25's range with this chip and ram... Running ram at 418 at the moment and the Chip at 3350 with a 335 FSB just was messing around with lower multi's.... Im gonna try to go further but the chip is stable with like 1.44 volts at 3300 ghz but anything over that needs way more volts...

This is simply not true...Brisbanes react with ram differently than different core X2's people just havent fully learned how to set the ram in relation to the cpu being used when it comes to Brisbanes...

the ones that have....have gotten higher clocks than other cores...do a clock search on Brisbanes...3600's hitting 3.4-3.5ghz....I'd say they clock better...

Most people get a brisbane and it hits a wall at 2.9ghz and they immediately start blaming the CPU or the board they have...

Neither one of those is the issue...it's the person trying to clock the cpu...if they'd spend a little time figuring out the ram settings they see these things will sail right up to and some passed 3.2ghz easy...

They're not just punch in a fsb number and it will go CPU like other A64 cpu's are...these ones take a little work to get there but they do...and on less volts..

Every Brisbane I have seen WILL hit 3G's on stock or with a slight bump in vcore with "Correctly" set ram timings...if the ram is left on auto or only the 5 main timings set it does take alot of voltage to scale it up...

Indeed it has been proven that Brisbanes are great overclockers you will also see so many more hitting over 3 ghz simply because of the popularity and massive amount of them in use here on the boards. That doesnt take anything away from the chip it self but most chips do have an upper ceiling and of course so do most overclockers when it comes to knowledge about overclocking. But overall I have seen more success with Brisbanes numbers wise but i have also seen a few nice Windsor overclocks...

What ram timings did you have the most success working with in your experiance?

Any how I will post pics later but I am so far 5 hours in and dual prime stable at 3350 ghz I left running over night...

Going to do some new Pi runs when I get home from work and then see what it takes to get this chip 3.4 ghz stable.
