Xbox HDD..

Ok, well, iv been working on getting my old computer operational, since my 6800 is in it. And its AGP so thats really the only computer it will work on. And i want to run some benches with my 6800 and play with it, cuz i miss it lol.

But anyway, iv gotten it to boot up, everything seems to be operational except i think theres something wrong with the BIOS since i have to reset it everytime i boot it for it to work. Otherwise the screen just stays black.

The only parts im missing right now for it to be complete is a PSU and HDD.

The HDD that i WAS using for it, is REALLY old and crappy. Its a 1.9gb Quantium Fireball 5,400rpm SLOW, un-reliable, VERY SLOW HDD. It takes about 5mins to boot, and thats with no programs running in the background (since all thats installed is windows and AVG anti-virus. That and the HDD will just die, out of nowhere the disc will randomly stop spinning and i have to tap it to get it goin again. Now if thats not ghetto i dont know what is. But it works fine i guess other then that.

Now, i have 2 HDDs from the older Xboxs. One is a Western Digital, the other is a Seagate. Both read as 10gb. Which i figured would be awsome. Since they should perform much better then the "Fireball" lol.

Well, i tried to boot up with both HDDs and both give me "Hard Disk Error" in the POST screen. I look in the BIOS, it displays that the HDDs are in fact connected, displays all the information on them (sectors and space etc...). But it doesnt seem to be able to use them, as in they are powered, and spinning, but dont appear to be reading or writing any data period.

Did Microsoft lock their HDDs so that they cannot be used with a normal computer? Is there a way i can get around this?

Thanks. Ill try to get them both unlocked, 20gb isnt bad since im just gonna use this computer to run overclocking tests and maybe 2 games or so.

Also, my other problem. I need to clear the CMOS everytime i boot or else it doesnt POST. I cant figure out this problem. Perhaps the CMOS battery is dead? Also, the PSU iv been using is the one im using to power my car amplifier, so the PS_ON wire is cut and one of the COM wires is cut and connected together, so therefore they arnt connected to the mobo at all. And im just using the switch on the PSU to turn it on and off. Could that be causing a problem?

Now the challenge is finding one of my working Xboxs lol. Since i got my 360, i havent needed my Xboxs, so a few of them went through torture, i dont know which ones work anymore.

Uhh, is there anyway to unlock them in XP? Cuz, the only working Xbox i have is missing the power wire for the CD-Drive. Cuz Microsoft is retarded and has to use a different power connector.
