Somehow I missed that...yeah, the Athlon 64 FX is the socket AM2 CPU that has the 2MB cache.

If you want to go the Intel route, I would look for a better mobo & RAM. I would just make a thread in the Intel section of the forum (or search for some, I'm sure there are a billion ) asking the best build for your price range for parts from a good source specifically in Europe. I would look for a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard & decent RAM (if you want to overclock on a budget, that is ). I would just stray away from that VIA mobo and generic DDR2 RAM, if I were you.

Personally, I would also go for an e6420 CPU, a DS3 mobo, and some decent RAM (like G skill). I just don't know off hand some good places to buy them that ship to Europe. I'm sure some of our fellow members that reside in your neck of the woods will be more than happy to provide you with some better options.

I would definitely avoid going through ebay, try Komplett, overclockers.co.uk, scan, microdirect, ebuyers...

yeah might have to nick, the thing is i have about £350 in my paypal account..and they dont take pp(i asked them).

so im going to have to wait another week for the money to transfer or find a shop that takes paypal
post #27 of 32
ahhh I see, god I hate PayPal's long processing times, I'd still say that's the better option though if you can stick it out for a week - you tend to find better quality parts still at good prices with that extra reliability.

I'd say start the transfer from Paypal now, and use that time to plan exactly what you want to spend the money on. That way you guarantee yourself some research time
