Ok so assuming you bought one of the above kits you would have £120-£130....
I would probably go for THIS an 8600GT. DX10 (If you have or get Vista) and a solid midrange card, it doesnt come close to an 8800GTX, but nor does the budget. This will run any game from the last few years at fairly high settings and should hang on to decent settings on newer games for a few years
I'm still debating getting the 8600GTS or the X1950 pro. Most people advise getting the X1950 now and upgrading to a DX10 card in a year or so when DX10 cards have been put through their paces and the issue is clearer.
What do you reckon?
Also I'm trying to choose whether to buy an AMD ATHLONâ„¢ 64 X2 4600+ (2.4GHz) 2 x 512K L2 Cache (Socket AM2)
an AMD ATHLONâ„¢ 64 X2 5200+ (2.6GHz) 2 x 1MB L2 Cache (Socket AM2)
The price difference is £30. Anyone know if the 2 x 1mb l2 cache would improve gaming performance much? Worth an extra £30?
