Mootin needs you! help with PAC code

Right so im with Three at the moment ( good network untill now ).

I have given the notice in that i dont want to re new my contract after the 12 months ( 17th june is my last day of the contract ). Now i want to keep my number because my phone has broke and all my numbers are stored on the phone, so I need my same number incase people txt/ring me and i can just go who's this.

So i ring Three up and ask them for a PAC code ( the code networks need to port the number over a different network ) , they say because I havent given them 30 days notice they are refusing it me.

Now I can get the PAC code only if i keep the contract one extra month ( so a 13 month contract that originally should only be 12 months ) . This cant be legal can it ?

No where on the Three site does it say i have to give 30 days notice. All it says is that i need to be connected to the network ( which i still am ) and that i need to give them 48 hours to process it.

It also states a PAC code is only valid for 30 days.

Please help me!! I need the PAC code but i dont want to pay an extra 25 quid for a contract i cant use cuz my phone is broke.

Is there any legal ways or legalalites i can use to get them to give it me ?

Check the fine print of your contract, that is all I can say.

But to answer your question I don't think telling you that you need to renew for 1 month for them to move your number is legal. When I switched from my previous carrier the number was ported without a hitch and no hassle form them. Anyway, it is your new carrier the one that takes care of the porting.
