yup

if you have any overclock i'd drop it down to defaults, and try re-seating the memory. Had a computer here at work just crash randomly yesterday. I took a one stick out, and it booted just fine. Put the stick back in and it working normally so far.

you are assuming it is an error with windows, if his computer can only manage to hold power for 10 seconds it is very possible it has nothing to do with windows...

ok, my computer is having the same problem now, it will run for about an hour, then automatically shut off, when you try to restart, it will run for 10 seconds, still black screen on monitor, then shut off. I will leave it at idle for a while and just shuts off.
