I wonder how well the iPhone will be accepted by the business world. Smart phones are probably most widely used in this sector given their functionality.

Anyway, I was reading on Cnet the other day that 1 out of ever 10 people polled had a high interest in the iPhone. They polled about a million people if I remember right.

Your avatar is scary again, Mike.

Funny about the business world thing: my supervisor has been insisting that he buys us each an iPhone to better communicate via web and of course voice. I can see it going far applied in business infrastructures, but not as far as Nextel went. =P

That's just a thought, though. Who really knows 'til it hits?

Heck if he wants to buy you an iPhone, i say let him! Tell him you've got a business partner in Arizona that needs one also

Should be interesting to see what happens when it comes out. I give props to Apple; They've really become a hip, trendy company. Not to mention wildly successful.

Now that they have become a fad, they will burn out in the next 3-8 years.

Barry, don't argue with these guys: They're set in their ways and the only thing that'll change them is if someone GIVES them something or they realize that having such a narrow mind about life doesn't hurt anyone but themselves.

Don't waste your energy. Just get an iPhone and pimp it.

And oh yeah, by the way MGX: I own an 8125 and it sucks. This is the device that everyone is talking about being for flash. It's so clunky and slow. Definitely worth 99 if that's all you can afford.
Hm, I don't actually own the 8125 but I was wondering what makes the iPhone so much better than these phones...

If you mean the MDA then yeah it may have been a little slow but I would sacrifice the slowness for the price difference.. Battary life would be a changing factor..

I think the iPhone will be leaps and bounds beyond what we've seen, or at least I'm hoping because this 8125 has to go. Ugh.
That is my point exactly what if the iPhone is simply an overhyped item? What if it lags and freezes up due to being overpacked..

I'll admit if it is amazing and works flawlessly then kudos. I am renewing my cing contract in October and I may get it. But if it isn't as good as they say, battery dies easy and it's just a bad phone I may as well get an 8525 around that time.

And yes Apple is very successful at about 125$ a share... It's huge.

Apple has enhanced its iPhone with a far longer battery life and an optical-quality glass top surface. This sends a clear message to smartphone rivals liker Nokia, Samsung and Blackberry that the iPhone means business in the cellular phone market.

Apple announced that iPhone will deliver significantly longer battery life when it ships on June 29 than was originally estimated when iPhone was unveiled in January. iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. In addition, iPhone will feature up to 250 hours—more than 10 days—of standby time.

Apple also announced that the entire top surface of iPhone, including its stunning 3.5-inch display, has been upgraded from plastic to optical-quality glass to achieve a superior level of scratch resistance and optical clarity.

“With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone’s battery life is longer than any other ‘Smartphone’ and even longer than most MP3 players,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

In its official release Apple shows that the iPhone has nearly double the battery life of other smart phones like the Nokia N95, Samsung Blackjack, Blackberry Curve 8300 and the Palm Treo 750.

“We’ve also upgraded iPhone’s entire top surface from plastic to optical-quality glass for superior scratch resistance and clarity. There has never been a phone like iPhone, and we can't wait to get this truly magical product into the hands of customers starting just 11 days from today.”

I think that Mac has done something seriously wrong with their advertising in that last few years, based on this fact: If you like Mac, you LOVE mac and hate people who don't "get" Macintosh, but if you dislike Mac, you LOATH everything Macintosh. ALSO, here is you (if you love Mac):

1. Vegetarian
2. Painter/Photography major, or other bizarre 'artistic' folk.
3. Unable to see that PC products are, have been, and always will be more customizable and therefore cheaper and easier to use/deal with.

Most people use PC, so Mac will never grow beyond anything MS can do.

I don't think Macintosh will ever be anywhere near Microsoft for this reason, because their customer base seems too narrow minded and too loyal that Macintosh has excluded all MS users from their potential customer array.

Disclaimer: I am not a fanboy of MS, but given the fact that there has always been better products out than Macintosh introduces (ie. Nokia N95 beats the iPhone, and multiple various MP3/MP4 players beat iPod), I will never get a Mac product at the fad-prices they sell their items for.

Proof? As I said, people speculate on these boards too much.

Keep in mind, I owned one real Apple Product before, the 30" LCD and I don't own it anymore.

yes, but its an 8gb ipod, and a phone, and whatever else it has all on 1 battery. what if im bored and i want to watch a movie, or i want to surf the net on the wifi. why would i want to drain the battery of my phone while i do that? im much happier with my $300 30gb ipod that i can watch movies on WITHOUT draining the battery of my phone. and yes, i have an ipod, im not anti-apple. but a $600 smart phone with an 8gb ipod seems like a total ripoff when you can get a 30gb ipod and a blackberry, and not waste the battery life of the blackberry when you want to listen to music or watch a movie.
