1) How is this the best iPod up to date? If I was using this as an iPod, I want memory, memory, and more memory!
2) $500 is a little much for any consumer to swallow. Most of us cannot simply write this off as a business expense.
3) under what conditions are the iphones providing 8hr talk time.
I see what you mean.
As for using it as an iPod, you're not just getting a decent amount of memory, but you are getting the ability to spin through your songs and albums with your fingers on a widescreen display. It's more interactive and looks a lot prettier.
$500 is definitely a lot to swallow. I understand that. The most I've ever paid for a phone is just under $200. The iPhone is reserved for people who are die-hard in the boat with Apple or the people who have the money. You won't see many normal high school kids with this phone like you saw with the Razrs.
As with all phones and the info they provide about talk time, it's under optimal conditions... probably with the volume low, backlights off, etc etc.
