I mean, people are calling it a joke when they've never even used it before. And most of those people have never even had a reason to use a PDA.

Lame.

I'm calling it a joke because there are plenty of other options with the same features for alot less....

Big screens are good, but i think they will crack more easily than others, and super smudgy if you use the touch screen all the time.

No, there aren't. Saying that is misleading. There are a host of options that the iPhone has that other PDA's do not.

That goes from Software, to hardware interface and interaction, to support.

Bet 10 bucks that iPhone will be the first phone to include mobile video editing software for the videos you take with the camera.

ae - Yeah I wonder what the stipulations would be. If that's true, I'm getting one release date because it'll balance out. Sick.
Phones were invented with a specific task in mind. Communication.

PC were not developed with a specific task in mind. Therefore, their application range will be much broader.

I don't want a phone that takes pictures and plays game and all that grade stuff. I just want a phone.

Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the iPhone. Go for it, have fun. I just don't want it and I don't think it will sell well.

You have to wait. More and more information will come out as it gets closer to launch date. I am not at liberty to discuss it.

Tell me why people would pay $300 for the Chocolate flip phone when all it really is just the same kind of phone as every other one just with a sleek design and some extra MP3 controls.

This phone is different. It's advanced. It's got features that you won't see in other phones for months and months after its release because the other companies are going to have to try and play catch up with Apple's innovation.

They are paying for the NAME, not the features, which all pda's come with these days. The chocalate was just an image they were paying for, they wanted to look cool and be in the "IN" crowd. Same thing with all of Apples products. They are never superior to anything, but they have the style that people want and makes them look different. The perfect example of this is Apple's current ad campaign, where they dog on Windows saying it's a geek with alot of problems, while OSX is cool, hip, and awesome....It's all an image. The ipod is another example. It definetly is no where near the best mp3 player, but it has a powerful name, and is stylish, therefore people pay for the name...

Yes, I do believe some of the price comes from the name, but to say that Apple has never been superios is absurd. They created the GUI, they created the mouse.. Apple is even ahead of the game with the power of their laptops: Build a MacBook Pro on the website. They aren't exactly lagging in power.

The phone was created to be used to communicate, yes, but doesn't the iPhone do that as well? It lets you take pictures, movies, etc, etc, find places, and then go to them and then send pictures and all that stuff to your friends and family. Communication comes in many forms and the iPhone lets you take advantage of those other forms. And while they are at it, they throw in some great features that have not been seen. Just wait and see... Millions of people have already subscribed to both AT&T and Apple newsletters just to get more information on this phone, and the company is expect huge amounts of traffic on the phones once the device is released. The sales are going to boom. This is HUGE.. there was no hype for the iPod, but Apple has made a huge name for itself and now everyone is talking about the iPhone.
