Yes, Chozart has a nack for finding the best deals and compatable parts around, his suggestions are usually a good basis to work off of. And if you check in the Case Mods area, or the Case Build Logs (just a few sections down from the intel area), you'll see plenty of Cyberdruid's projects, or you can PM him for further details, he's very helpful

If i was you i would wait for a penryn chip to come out

oh and you will want a watercooling setup, to cool your cpu and gfx with a 360mm rad

pop over and see us in the watercooling section and we will help you out with a quality watercooling setup

I would rather stay away from WC if possible (see the reason why a few posts back). Thanks for all the advice, seems as if a lot of new GPUs and CPUs are coming out in the next month or two. Maybe I should wait?

Is it really worth me spending this amount on a PC, if everyone is honest? I just bought a 360 and PS3 for some of their exclusive titles and the only one on PC I see coming out that could be any good is Crysis and I am not sure if any of today's PCs could handle that at 1920x1200 with decent settings.

It seems I could get one powerful computer but as everyone is saying new CPUs are due soon so buying the "Top Dog" now most likely won't last me 5 minutes what with DirectX 10 just about to take off etc...

I just noticed DDR3 too, where is that heading? Looks like the next generation to me!?

Don't forget that you're going to pay around 30% over newegg on parts in the UK. Have you considered a cheap flight to USA and a hotel?

More seriously, have you considered spending £1.2k now for a e6600/gtx build then getting another £1.2k build in a year or two? That way the maxed out gaming will probably last longer and you'll end up with a still decent backup rig.

I don't see the point into putting so much into one build, but it's your money. Either way the Q3 intel pricedrops are coming soon, you'd save a lot on a q6600 or qx6700 then or you could push the boat out further by getting a 45nm quad.

Wish I had the money for a build like that, good luck overclocking!

Words of a wise man there, I never thought of that. I need time to think now where did I put my chair...
