The Ultra-D and SLI-DR are based on the same PCB On the first version of the Ultra-D, it was possible to mod the PCB tracks to make it a SLI-DR. However, DFI changed the rev 2 board to stop this.

Not true...

The board was the same...with the Ultra-D's the difference was the 2nd revision of the chipset in which nVidia changed (NOT DFI)

the board can still be modded to SLI it's just a little bit more complicated to do but it can still be done...

if DFI wanted to stop the modding the Ultra-D would have only came with 1 PCI-E slot like most other Non-SLI boards do...
