Anything Turion based or any Newark based core will do nicely. I have a Turion MT40 that hums along at 2.95GHz in my LanParty NF3 250GB mobo.

Yes I do plan on overclocking. I've got my 3000 to 2.25. I have seen a 3700 clawhammer. How about that one?

The fastest and best Socket754 CPU out there is the 3700+Clawhammer
If you can find one cheap enough as they go for some crazy money
With a 1MB L2 Cache and 2.4Ghz they are beasts
I always wanted to get one and maybe still will, seeing as I still have my S754 build beside me
EDIT:

I don't think you will find a new one of those chips anymore!

If you can get one for under $150 then buy it, they still go for more than that on a good day
And if the one on eBay stays under $150 I would suggest you buy it if you only want to upgrade your CPU
