I need help with Fedora Core 6!!

Thread Starter
My dad has the root password and I HATE it.

I want it.

I need it.

So I can actually download something WITHOUT him typing it in.

I already used the system trick to get admin on my Windows partition.

Does anyone know how to get root on Fedora Core 6?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry i took back my previous answer but i wasn't sure if this thread was against the TOS or something. but since noone has said so yet, here was my original response to your question

when you boot up, hit "e" to get to boot options, then somewhere look for "single user mode" that will allow you to get in to the root without the password i believe

EDIT: just do a google search for "fedora 6 single user mode"

basically you have to start using init 1 instead of init 5 i believe it is

Um...lol

Yes there is on a lot of *nix systems.
All I have to do is find an exploit in like a 3rd party program overflow.
I'm sure you could exploit your way to privilege escalation somehow.
