I'm just curious to know how much CPU usage does the BIOS take up?

Nothing. BIOS is the basic set of instructions that the motherboard needs to intialize components. After POST, BIOS is no longer "running"

that's one would think and i trust you that's right.....i just want to know this because when i go into the BIOS to check my cpu temp it says it's at around 45C....i know that's not dangerous but i would think that the BIOS would be using up some of the cpu if the temp is up that high.....btw i have en E6600

also when i boot into windows the cpu temp drops to like 39-40
