which highend PSU unit should i get?

well right now i have the following:

intel E6400
EVGA NF68-A1 680i
BFG 8800 GTS
2x 1GB Dominator PC8500
2 x 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (rd0)
LITE-ON 20X DVD Burner
2 x 250gb HDD
1 x mc655 pump and 6 fans

nowI was planning on getting the EVGA 8800 ultra graphics card as soon as newegg starts to carry them (the watercooled verison, as i dont know of any 8800 ultra water blocks). Than immediately after that 2 x 74gb raptors at raid 0 and have my 250gbs as back up.

Question is, right now I have a 750w PSU, thermal take, works nice.
AFTER my first 8800gtx ultra I plan on getting another and sling them.
Than adding a second pump to cool the GPU’s besides the pump I have now. (thats a simple pump and about 3 more fans)

Would I exceed 750w? if I would, which PSU should I get?

Thermaltake Toughpower1000W

why is the pc power and cooling so much more?
I want to get something good and I don’t want to spend
Any more than the money im shellin’ out. Any rec’s
To any other psu’s? check out other ones:

you are probably okay with the 750 but if you think you need mroe you can step up to an 850 or 1000

the pc p & c is more exxpensive because it has one huge 12v rail insted of 4 medium ones... the thermaltake is still very good and i recommend it

Consider the Ultra X3 1000W if the PC P&C is too expensive: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...uctCode=382347

The Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W is also good, though a bit louder than the Ultra.

Than my 750w will power all the junk?
I mean, I will only have one ultra now,
but in a month I wanna SLI the thing,
and i heard they run upto 300watts.

YEs, a 750W PSU should be ok, provided that it has a powerful 12V rails (preferably single) Not sure if the Thermaltake is up to the task, but PSU's like the Silverstone OP750/DA750 and The PC Power & Cooler Silencer 750W will be.

Ultra's don't draw that much. 225W at the most (given that they have two 6-pin connectors, which are limited to 75W each, and then another 75W through the PCI-E connector itself.)

And which one are you planning?? The 8800GTX or the 8800Ultra??? There is no 8800GTX Ultra

I'd say if you're looking for an upgrade, the Silverstone DA850, OP1000, or the Ultra X3 1000W are your best picks.

highwey: the ones you mentioned earlier won't power SLI-ed 8800 Ultra's.
