firstly,how much frames per second can the human eye see?
secondly,do you see a difference between 50 and 100 fps?
thirdly,is it worth the money or the overclock to get an extra fps from 40 to 60?
fourthly,why do some people complain when their games run at 60 fps.
fifthly,a DVD's fps is 30,so why do you want more if you cant see the difference?

(This being my Fav)

Bassically you can see more upwards of 100 i believe, 25 - 30fps is because the darkness blurs the motion therefore your eye thinks there are more kind of thing.

And yes people can see the difference between 50 and 100fps, however it will be subtle

Check this out It says that movies play at 24, but can do so because they're blurry compared to computer images. I didn't read throught the entire thing, but at a certain point, your monitor will bottleneck the performance of your GPU. My monitor, for example, a refresh rate of 25ms. So if my GPU plays anything over 40 fps, then it is running too fast for the monitor.

I don't think i really answered your question, but hopefully i gave you enough information to understand it all a bit more

I heard if you compare a game at 60FPS to a game at 100FPS, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference.

I believe its 30fps minimum before you start noticing stuttering from low frames.

If you get over 40 FPS under max load your fine and it's probably not worth the $ upgrading.

the human eye sees about 60fps... anything much more and it doesnt make much difference... and most lcd's are only able to display about 75fps anyway (refresh rate = monitor fps)

It is different for everyone. Some people can tell that it's stuttering at 30 fps and some people can't.

its kinda funny because i see people stressing about drops from 110 fps to 60 fps.and i think their monitors run at 85hz.

Graphics were too intense at that moment?

I only find the reason to go high frames with Vsync off is because of worrying about frames dropping below 60 or 30 then causing slowness and stuttering..

I play CSS alot... more than i care to admit...

I set the "max_fps 500"

It uncaps the came to a maximum of 500 frames...

At my monitors rez, 1680 x 1050 i get about 200-250 average frames...

Its nice to have this way over killed, so when you hit a part in the game where the frames always drop, it only drops down to around 120~

thats why i shoot for the max, and pay way too much for my hardware...

I say do it to the max, so when it bogs down, it only goes down to "normal" and not to crap or something....
