Just looked over the new AMD naming scheme on their site and noticed that they claim that their Brisbanes are 118mm2 with 221 million transistors but I read on Anandtech that it is supposed to be 126mm2 with 154 million transistors. Anyone else notice this? Makes me wonder who is right. I've checked numerous other sites that state the same stats as Anandtech. I think this is interesting as I was wondering on the scaling of AMD's 65nm process. Also interesting is that the transistor count is way off. The die size is pretty similar but what accounts for that additional 70 million transistors?
