Thermaltake 2000w PSU - Page 3

It seems to me like the PSU companies just want to boast that they have the beefiest PSU. Sort of recently, the first 1k watt was produced, (at least that I know of) and already we have 2k watt. I think the PSU companies just like the idea of having the biggest one.

all sockets are 240V standard in the UK

Considering that the PCP&C 750 Silencer can run a dual 8800GTX SLI just fine I don't think you need this.

Dual 53XX Xeons with 8GB of DDR2 and some other hefty requirements draw well under 500 watts.

Not to mention that you would blow your circuit if you turned on your fan while the CPU was running.

Members in US can't use this PSU, but people who live in UK can use this PSU.
So if you want to overclock at home, you need to move to UK.

"But it's future proofing your system"

LOL, I love sarcasm! Way too much and unnecessary unless you have some way of running 3 systems off 1 PSU

You could use this PSU just fine in the US given that you have the correct wiring to support it in your house. You can easily upgrade a 15 amp circuit to 20amp as long as the exhisting wiring will handle the additional current. If your only using a 16 or 14 guage wire then you wouldn't want to swap the breaker out you'd be asking for a fire, but if you had a reputable electrician who put the good stuff in (in most case's not because even million dollar homes are built like sh-- these days) you'll have 12 guage wire which is fine for a 20 amp circuit, if this is the case you run down to your local home depot drop 10 bux on a 20 amp breaker and replace your exhisting 15 amp with the 20amp, (notice to those who may actually try this MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF THE MAIN'S POWER FIRST!!!!! THATS USUALLY THE REALLY BIG TYPICALLY 200AMP SWITCH AT THE TOP OF YOUR HOUSE PANEL)Ok disclaimer done now, but yeah thats all it'd take and you've now got a circuit capable of 2400 watts of supply.

That doesn't change the fact that it's completely UNNECESSARY!!!!!!

In the picture there are the arrows pointing to speakers and an amplifier? Is this for a computer or a car?

I'm pretty sure it was you guys who started limiting the amperage allowed on a single line...or something like that.

I dono, but I doubt this thing will get approved...that's a lot of power.
