Yeah, the Guild Wars installation directory is pretty sparse compared to some, such as Morrowind which has a music folder and you can just switch the music out with your own (I had the FFVII boss music for combat a while ago
You might be able to change the music by editing the Gw.DAT file which can be done using any old text editor (Notepad for instance) and you might be able to edit certain settings just like a .cfg file. Needless to say this is not
recommended as it could render the game unplayable and might even count as hacking the game so you could risk an account ban. If however you do
plan on trying it, then be prepared to search through a 1.5GB+ DAT file trying to find a .MP3/WAV/WMA etc extension and replace it with your own music's address.
That said, I don't even know if the music is stored locally or streamed from the servers, in which case it might be a little futile to try and change it.
I strongly recommend against modding the game like this and suggest you just get a discrete player like foobar2000
to run in the background which your sig rig should be more
than capable of handling.
Which reminds me, I've got to play more Guild Wars.
