Where in there do you see that? The closest thing in the terms that I find is this:

Your purchase price will be reduced by the amount equal to the original purchase price of the graphics card that you are trading in. Because this value is initially entered by you, it will be subject for review by EVGA - who may elect to add or remove additional charges based on the accuracy of the original application. Also, the Step-upâ„¢ upgrade cannot be used with any other offers or promotions.
The original purchase price, as quoted on invoice and everything is $189.99, and since that is the original price... seems logical to me...

I'm going for the 8800GTS now, by the way. I hadn't done any research into benchmarks, but those are some pretty impressive numbers. And, I just got a paycheck dropped off over here, so I actually have the money.

Price I paid for 7900GS: $180 + $80 MIR, but eVGA counts it as $180
Step up options:
8600GT for $0
8600GTS for $40
8800GTS 320 for $120
Everything else is out of my range.

I wasn't planning on getting either of the 8600 cards because I was under the impression that they are a) crap and b) equivalent to a 7800, but this is impractical as I have a 7900. I switch back and forth between XP, Vista, and Ubuntu, but I could care less about DX10 because I realistically don't have the time nor the money to afford any next-gen games. (edit1) I play games at 1280x1024 and might upgrade to 1680x1050 eventually, so I don't do any huge-resolution gaming. I game casually, and the 79 can max out everything right now, so I'm leaning toward a 'no' for step up, just trying to get a second opinion, as I think that the 8800GTS will last me a lot longer than a 7900 will (this will be my last comp upgrade for a while if I follow through). That's about it.

So my question is, is it worth it to pay $120 to go from 7900GS to 8800GTS?
