AMD upgrade: critisicm encouraged - Page 3

I say the 9500 will do fine cause most amd's don't run real hot and most opteron's don't clock over 3 ghz so it won't be too hot.

I think the Zalman 9500 would be a great option for you, but I just wanted to let you know of a seller on eBay that sells refurbished Zalman HSF's with 1 year warranties for very reasonable prices, like a Zalman 9500 for $19.95 w/ $9.10 shipping via USPS.

On another note I have a Mushkin PSU and it has been very stable and is solid with a stressed overclocked system. What is unimpressive is that the +12v rail lingers around 11.95volts. I like my +12v rails to, well, actually be +12v. It has not affected my performance one bit. You can tell a lot about a PSU by how much it weighs, for instance a FSP is frickin' heavy as hell. My Mushkin was someone between an el cheapo PSU and FSP as far as weight is concerned. Got mine for $50 after a $40 rebate, which reminds me I should be getting that rebate soon, hmmmm.

Wow that seller has great deals. Found the am2 version for $24 even, too bad I don't have a paypal account . Anyone wanna buy it for me ?

Good to hear that the Mushkin is stable for you, makes me feel comfortable for wanting it and the green will go good with the cooler .

Edit: Socket 939 will never die (look at posts... )

Do not use your checking account with Paypal Don't even think about it unless you understand what you're risking. All money in your checking account can be withdrawn and held for months on end for absolutely no reason.

Didn't know that you could use a savings account for paypal, might have to do that. Might be too much hassal for just 14 dollar savings...

Edit for sccr64472: Well they can hold onto my 15 cents for however long they want , I'm getting a new one once I'm in the Navy anyways. I'll just deposit the money for when I need it, cash FTW.

As long as you're aware of what can happen, then you're not in for a surprise. Just don't ever deposit anything that you're not willing to lose

you can paypal them, receive item, then cancel your paypal account (and they have no right to your funds and I think is illegal to store your account info)
