About the 2608 and 2609 WU's - Page 2

If you were running 1 stick instead of 2, you were also probably not getting the benefit of true DDR technology because you did not have 2 channels of RAM. So in effect, the 1 gig instead of 2 could actually have been hurting you.

Ya, I was single channel. I didn't get exact difference in times or write anything down, but I don't really think it changed time per frame much. I doubled the ram and made it dual, but it didn't seem to care much. Time maybe got a little better can't remember for sure how much. But for many things it's like that, running dual channel doesn't always give much performance boost.

I noticed a considerable difference from single channel to dual channel on WU's like the 2608 and 09. For the 2604 and 05 there was a little gain, but not much.

Really, maybe I should pull 1gb and check again. I thought I was getting close to same times, but I don't have a 2608 or 9 right now either, dang it. I'll have to double check that if I get one again.
