Bah. People with buckets of money. My desktop does me just fine. Had it since October doesn't seem to be massively out of date yet so I would say its had a good run. I really skimped on Graphics and RAM at the time... 1GB and 7600GS.

but my 6400 @ 3.4 ghz is technically faster than any other STOCK dual core out. You don't think that adds 6 months to its life?

Some of us need the horsepower, though. I know Quad is definitely a worthy upgrade for Video Editors.

life span? long time. Upgrade? Hell, I'm PROBABLY gonna sell my Quad for 200 when new stepping comes out and have newer Q6600, THEN when Penryn hits, I'll sell THAT Quad for however much and go to Penryn. So, depends on how fast you upgrade.

Besides i'd rather have the newer Quads that are coming than the current ones because, lets be honest....the current Quads are crap.
You said there Crap, Now you want one
