.........humm im not sure if im likely to fry my gpu b cos ive just updated my drivers for my 5700le from Nvidia,
ran coolbits again and now my optimum setting are

336 clock and 966 memory?? any idea why it is so high?

before i was running xtreme G drivers and the optimum speed was

291 clock and 484 memory??

do you think the memory is to high??

cheers guys wilko

The memory is DDR, so when you were running 484, it was actually 484x2=968mhz. So, it really did not change your memory speed. The core change is what is to be expected, however I never trust the 'optimum settings' button.

Oh yea, that core should reach 340mhz no problem. I had my old 5200 up to that, but my memory was about 800mhz.

ok first off, your memory is running @ 482, the drivers in the 9 serieis read all earlier cards wrong, its kinda odd but true. Second that core is the same on the FX5700Ultra, so get good cooling and do a bios mod to increase voltage you will get close to 500mhz on that core if not more, also try to volt mod your ram, might get some more from it, being as all 5700le's are 64ibt any mem speed increase will help
