Need Input/Suggestions On Kid's Build

Ok, here's the LINK to what I am going to build for my kid's next gamer. Still undetermined as to whether I'm going to put Vista on it or XP. Games that they play are as follows:

Counter Strike:Source
Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2142
Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Age of Empires III
Guild Wars (ALL Titles, Including the up and coming Guild Wars 2)
Real Flight Simulator G3.5 (RC Airplanes/Helicopters/Jets)

Not going to OC this thing because they really don't need anything outrageous, so stock cooling will be just fine!!

I do want to be able to get them a larger LCD in the future (22"-30"), hence the SLIable MB.

Speakers are really not a concern, as they both use Logitech Gamer Headsets.

Any input/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

That's one lucky kid you've got there

Two suggestions:

If you plan to go SLI in the future, I'd get the 620W version of the Corsair... or a Silverstone OP/DA 650W or 750W.

Why not get a 20" monitor right now... they aren't that much more expensive, and he'll love the higher resolution!

I mean, what's $10 on this budget

Some will advice you to get a Seagate Perpendicular Technology hard drive, but the WD will serve you well also

Mayb two 250GB drives in RAID0? If that's within budget.

Great looking rig though! Nice job.

Spend the extra $30 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073 well worth it in my oppinion harddrives are just so cheap and the more space the better always! Also for some good cheap ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145015 . I know you said you aren't going to overclock so these would be perfect you could even get 2 sets for just a little more $ to have 4 gigs!. With just a slight voltage increase they easily do ddr2 800 like nothing and with good timings.

I would rather get two 250GB Hard drives @ $69.99 a piece in RAID0 than the 500GB single drive

Regarding the RAM... I personally would spend the extra money. It seems that the plan is to not overclock it RIGHT NOW, but maybe it'll be overclocked in the future (He'll have to when going SLI). However, if the rig isn't going to be overclocked ever at all, then yep, the Corsair will do fine.

I do not see ANY reason for 4GB RAM though. 2GB is plenty right now.

Thanks for the input Chozart , your stamp is ALWAYS a big help! I'll do the monitor for $10 more, the PSU will be upgraded to the Corsair 620W (LOVE Corsairs PSU's BTW) , but the extra HD is pretty much out of the question seeing as ALL they are going to be doing is gaming on this rig. No need for more HD space, although I may now consider 2 x 160gb for Raid0 for speeding up program load times. As far as the RAM goes est.1885, this RAM will probably be swapped into my new build later down the road (and I'll push it to 1100), then I'll pick them up some cheaper RAM seeing as I love these sticks (used in MANY builds and will hit 900 with a slight bump in voltage) Thanks again for the input guys!
