Call of Juarez Benchmark Out~! - Page 6

Guys, This is pretty bad for the GTS users. I had a feeling they couldn't handle DX10. Atleast the 320MB version scores WAY less then a GTX.

This is in the same computer BTW, with 158.45.

-----------------------------
320MB 8800GTS
1920x1200, max graphics, 4x aa
min 2.6, max 13, avg 7.4
-----------------------------
768Mb 8800GTX
1920x1200, max graphics, 4x aa
min 9.2, max 28.8, avg 16.6
----------------------------

Max 13 FPS... wow. How does NVIDIA expect a 8600 or a 8500 to run DX10? Why even make a DX10 card that is slower? This has to be a driver issue or NVIDIA would of never made 8600s and 8500s, theres no way they could handle DX10 if this is how the performance is.

That makes me think its only the 320MB version of the card, or the fact that 1920x1200 is way bigger than 1440x900.

Well, in real life tests, higher resolutions don't take all that much off a games performance with the 640mb, just the 320mb. In all the reviews that I've seen, it only takes off 5 or so at most from the 640. Correct me if I'm wrong.

it doesn't run so great at 1680 * 1050 even with aa off...

For Comparison, with these "slow" 158.45 drivers:

Minimum: 11.6FPS
Maximum: 57.0FPS
Average: 26.8FPS

(1920x1200, 4xMSAA)
When will your "other" drivers be published on the nvidia site? I mean the game is out in 2 days, if performance is like this then I really don't see the need of purchasing the game. Your scores are drastically different from everyone I've talked to.

My RL friend and me have tested this demo over and over with 2 computers, i've also talked to Mhil a ton, and his friend who has basically the same build as me. We all score around the same, about 30FPS lower on max, and around 15FPS lower on average.

Setting the game to use only 1 core also has no performance impact, meaning it doesn't even use more than 1 core.

I re-ran it at 1920x1200 and 4x AA just for comparison with the 8800gtx's.

Min: 9.4
Max: 28.1
Avg: 16.6

Pretty good IMO.

Nice score, it seems that the 320MB GTS just can't handle this, the 640MB scores around the same as a GTX.

You score basically the same as a GTX, I think drivers are to blame for the poor performance.
