Max 13 FPS... wow. How does NVIDIA expect a 8600 or a 8500 to run DX10? Why even make a DX10 card that is slower? This has to be a driver issue or NVIDIA would of never made 8600s and 8500s, theres no way they could handle DX10 if this is how the performance is.
This is exactly why I think the 8500/8600 series are the most worthless cards ever made. If they are only as good as a 7600 series or slightly better, then there is no way in hell that those cards will be able to play on DX10 settings with high settings.

Buying a 1900 or 7900 series and running any DX10 game in DX9 mode would yield much better graphics compared to using lowend DX10 cards and running them in DX10 with crap settings.

Crysis is being released on 9/11 (Yes 9/11..)

I've watched Crysis being played on a QX6700 (at stock, 2.66GHz) and a single 8800GTX as well, the only frame issues were when he shot a rocket at a truck, and the game locked up for 3-4 seconds. It also locked up for around 2 seconds when he shot the first guy on the mission, but it didn't for any other the others. But thats most likely just because the game isn't finished.

If I remember even the DX9 version of call of juarez is pretty badly coded.
Okay, few things I have to mention. First, Crysis is supposed to have a DX9 version, so they're likely developing the DX10/DX9 versions in parallel. CoJ's DX10 support had to be built from the ground up, too. The only difference is, CoJ was built with DX9 features in mind, because the engine was finished earlier. Crysis's priority is to use DX10, and use it well, and then only have DX9 for compatability. So rather than dreaming up new features to implement(and having trouble putting them in), for Crysis DX9 they just cut them out.

Now, one other thing. Anyone notice CoJ has JRE in a subdir? Yes, that's right - Java.

Maybe on a smaller monitor? People buying an 8500 - a card less than $100 - are not going to be buying $800 monitors. They buy $400-500 computers instead.

I'd be willing to bet an 8600GTS would play CoJ at 800x600, quite well. That's about 1/4th the pixels of 1920x1200, and the 8600GT/S have 1/4th the shaders.

I'm currently revising, so shouldn't really be replying to posts, so I will just quickly add the picture I took with my camera of the Call of Juarez Benchmark.

8800GTX (Default Speeds), with E6600 @ 3604MHz.

Drivers: Not quite sure, seems to be a combination of the 158.xx series and a "different" series. Seems when I tried to roll them back to 158.xx, they didn't like it much, and kept half of the files.

Sorry about the poor quality, and the short post, I had to use the camera, and I should be revising.

Note: The application is mostly playable at this resolution (with these drivers), except when extreme polygon counts (or equivalent) are present. Standard terrain and environments are perfectly playable. I will test this later with overclocked Graphics Settings (640/2080 vs. 575/1800).

Lol how did you do that? Keep the driver files?

Nice performance though.

Result's
0 FPS max
0 FPS min
0 FPS avg

Conclusion: Program would not go into full screen and when it did performance was VERY bad, as with windowed on low settings and suffered not to much of a already bad performance level was very low due to driver issues.

Nvidia fails, hard.

Then the program when blank and told me device nvlddmkm has recovered from a serious error.

All I have to say is lol@nvidia's great drivers. Wish I had a ATi still.
