SpyBot S&D and AVG. Both free, both some of the best performing.

IMO best performing free ones. No 1 will clean it out completely. Just google some anti virus programs. There's been a couple of benchies on here on what program caught what files. There were some freebies in the top 15 programs I think.

i just use avast and i'm behind a wireless router firewall, and thats it. as long as you don't go to sketchy sites you shouldn't have many problems from spyware

I like AVG free and Ad-aware. Also try this program Spyware Blaster. It prevents sypwares from installing on your computer. Also keep your computer update. Run Windows Updates and software updates.

Comodo Firewall is one of the best firewalls I ever used, and I've used Panda, McAfee, Norton and many others...AVG is also a very good Anti-Virus...uses very little system recources unlike Avast!

AVG Free (virus)
ZoneAlarm (firewall)
AdAware (spyware)
Windows Defender (spyware)

Plus my linksys router's hardware firewall
