Hello guys, first I want to indroduce myself, I have been looking at this website for a long time but finally became a member, I am very happy to be part of the community and I have noticed that you guys have a great thing going here, anything you need feel free to contact me, I do video and commercial editing here in texas, now here comes the specs, I recently built an avid machine, avid is a editing system, now avid had some major requirments as far as what to buy so I went and bought and built this

intel E6600, CORSAIR XMS2 2GB 2 x 1GB, MSI P6N SLI-FI NVIDIA Socket 775 win XP SP2
(notice this is not the platinum version)
also, nvida quadro fx 1500,colermaster case,650 rosewell power supply, and a whole bunch of fans

now, I bought everything at newegg, great website by the way, I have had the system for about 2 weeks now and everything is running great, everything is at stock speeds, but I need more and that is why I need some advice, I want to overclock to 3.6 because I noticed that everyone that has the same processor OC's to 3.6 and runs stable, can anyone help me?

thanks guys and keep up the good work

You're ready to spend more money right? Good, because Intel Stock Cooler ain't gonna get you far, hate to break your heart. I suggest a TTBT (NON-VX) and a Silverstone FM121, it's what I'm ordering in a week or so I think.

Well, for starters, you might want to leave the ram out of it to max out the cpu.

Set ram to:
Unlinked
800 MHZ
5-5-5-15 timings
stock (auto) voltage

After you get the aftermarket cooler

As for the CPU, I would recommend you do not go over 1.45V yet or over 58 Degrees celcius.
Does your motherboard modify the Buss speed or the FSB? (buss speed would be 1066, fsb would be 266)

you know I just checked the bios and I could not find the option to change the number of clocks, or does this happen automatically as you adjust the FSB speed?
