"CPU Test Failed"

Thread Starter
Ok a couple of weeks ago whilst booting up for an exciting day of work, a pleasant voice comes over the speaker and says "CPU test Failed!" repeatedly as if I Hadn't heard her the first time. No huge deal..after some research (mostly on this forum ) I ordered an 4400 X2 and installed it today. However instead of the rip roaring, brain scorching speed I had anticipated all week, I get the same damn message "CPU test Failed!". Bad MoBo?

Thanks
My System

FIRST: make sure your board supports the new CPU.

Second:

I would say clear the CMOS and try it again. If it still does not work and nobody else has any suggestions try unplugging everything-floppy, hdd, dvd drive- from the board and unplug all power connectors to all devices, including motherboard.
Now reset the bios and plug everything back in.

If that does not work, I would say bad board.

I would keep messin with it for a couple weeks but that's just me!
