OCing my Opty 148

Hey guys Ive been trying for a couple of days to stabilize at 2850, tonight I got my longest prime run of a little over four hours. My vcore is at 1.45. My question is, I was getting bored of how quiet it was in my room so I lined up some mp3s and started playing tunes to amuse myself. Could this of caused prime to halt? Or should I bump the vcore more before my next run and keep the tunes off?

Edit: The reason Im shooting for 2850 is because it runs my ram .5mhz shy of its max overclock.

Well sorry I dont know how to add attachments to a previous post. But heres some cpuz screenshots, and as you can see even though I set 1.45 in bios it actually gives 1.52. As these boards are known to overvolt some.

Edit: Incase anyones at all interested, I just raised the vcore by .025 and am giving it another run, this is annoying when you think all is gone then a few hours in, blam, halt.

Well dropped the oc down to 2.8 and has been priming for atleast 12 hours. Guess thats my limit, but Im extremely happy with it. As my old 3700+ would only do 2.6 and I notice the difference between the two.

Well finnaly got 2.9 stable at 1.55 vcore, thats about as far as Ill push it voltage wise. Had to use the overvolt cpu function in the bios, as when I set the maximum vcore of 1.56 it was only giving it 1.52 volts. Now just to work out how to set up my ram.

good job....what stepping is that chip...CAB2E's top out around what you have...

I didnt notice much improvement on mine going from 2.8-2.9ghz with that much vcore..so I left it at 2.8ghz on stock vcore...

Also...when I run prime/Orthos...I also run other stability apps like all the 3D-marks during the stability test...if it doesnt crash it's good...

basically I just run prime/orthos and do as much as I can when doing it...I'll run virus scan amd WMP and anything I can run....
