Fuzzy text on Dell 2407 - is this normal?

Is this just how the text renders on the 2407?

See actual page here: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...dhs1&sku=59234 obviously the pic is showing it bigger, but if yours is the same as mine, you can see 'pinkish' fuzzyness, esp around the bold letters.

It mainly effects smaller fonts, such as the folder list in Outlook Express. Cleartype is on (without it the text is very thin).

Is this normal for the Dell? Is it normal for 24" monitors?

(Ps, the monitor is in Desktop mode)

Doesn't look normal to me. I have the E228WFP (22inch) and mine doesn't do that at all.

nope. not on my macbook, or my 2007WFP...must be you, man.

Desktop mode...that's good...the only one that works, lol.

Hmm....I have no idea *** is up...

Call Dell and get an RMA. They'll send you a new one, and a label in your email to send the old one back when the new one arrives.

I think it's partly to do with screen size vs screen res. The pixels are smaller, so not sure how much harder that makes it for ClearType to work properly :-/
