My 6800GS and War3-TFT

Since I reformatted my computer, I've been having issues with Warcraft 3 - The Frozen Throne's performance on my Evga 6800 GS. From what I can remember, I used to be able to have everything maxed in Nvidia's Control Panel and the game would never drop below 64 frames per second unless there was a lot of action on the screen. It seems that, on a very regular pattern, the framerate drops to about 30 fps for a few seconds, and then goes back to normal. The framerate will also drop like this during certain animations, specifically during the game Defense of the Ancients. I'm sure you are all huge fans...

I am assuming, but am not totally sure, that this is related to the new release of the Nvidia Control Panel. I've tried adjusting settings here and there to see if it makes a difference, but I cant seem to figure it out. Anyone have any idea what setting might be causing this 'spike'?

Well try the older drivers you had and see if it resolves the issues. Some work better than others depending on your card.

I love Warcraft 3 but hate dota. Anyway on topic, have you tried defragging your HD + cleaning your registry? Also, DOTA is infamous for it's memory leaks so it could be the maps fault. Does this happen in melee as well? What about other games? As a last resort I'd try reinstalling TFT. Also, as vwgti suggested, going back to your previous drivers may help.

Thanks for the input, I'll try and mess around with it a bit. I had also thought of overclocking my 6800GS a bit, I haven't since I reformatted. Anyone know what clocks this card can handle?
