I use 1/2 size of a piece of rice. I would add it onto the middle of the heat sink and let the CPU and heat sink contact squeeze and spread time a part.

If you're using AS5, it takes around 200 hours for it to settle in. A daily cycle of on and off PC usage.

For a CPU...Like a tiny rice to a very tiny pea-sized. Then spread it out or just leave it in the center and put the heatsink on.

If it's AS5, squeeze out a drop about the size of a raw grain of rice.

Your system just says "CPU 3.06 Ghz ht." I'm not too sure what that means. I can only offer advice on a C2Q chip. With that, a little goes a long way, but after I lapped it and the heatsink, I had to use a bit more or else I got horrible temps and had to use a bit more.

Here is a shot of my q6600 installed in the MB with AS5 right before I added the HS. It shows the right amount in my opinion given a lapped HS and CPU (which is a thicker line than I used before); the red triangle I drew shows where that tag is on the CPU, remember that on quad core chips, the dies are placed in a different located relative to a dual core, see the instructions on AS5's website for more on this. If that "HT" CPU of your's isn't a C2D/C2Q you'll wanna look for the proper installation of the AS5 for it. On my old Athlon XP for example, they recommend the old "grain of rice" method.

Let me mention that it would be good to rub/wipe the paste over the surface of the cpu. The reason for this is that there are microscopic ridges and you want the coolant to cover every part of it.

Careful though, these products can be conductive and could cause a problem if your sloppy.
