And being a owner of a syncmaster, they have a ton of input lag. I can only imagine with that size of screen. The bigger the screen, the more input lag.

Not even CS:S? I was just thinking of upgrading to c2d and 8800 to play cs in 2560x1600...

Depending on how far away your monitor is, you may actually suffer from too large of a screen. Having to move your head side by side causes delays in shooting. I have a 24" and play CS:S. Had to push the monitor back about a foot to be able to see everything clearly or else there was just too much viewing surface to react to an enemy quickly.

For my 24", I had to be at least 1.5 ft away. I'd say at least 2+ ft away to be comfortable.

Huge monitors are over-rated. Bigger is not better. Consider that you're going to have a larger field of view that you have to track. You may actually have to move your head to look from one side of the monitor to the other, which would badly affect your gaming (eyes move faster than your head) Unless you move your monitor back a few feet from where you would normally have it

IMO, PC monitors look too big past 22".

Input lag is a delay in updating the image on LCD. It usually is a few ms at most. It has to do with the fact that the LCD's processor has to do work. If you put a CRT and LCD on the same video card, the LCD image will sometimes be behind the CRT. This may throw off aim in FPS.

Input lags, are almost a thing of the past now. The home hdtv lcd's have made a great improvement and so has plasma over the past 3yrs. Most computer lcd's are so fast that the human eye can not tell a diff. I would only wory about imput lag if you are going to be shopping a used lcd.
