so i had 2 gb's of ram in my pc the other day and my buddy needed a stick to test a new mobo he got...now before when i had the 2 gb's or ram still in i had my cpu overclocked to 2.6 and that as far as i could push it...now with only 1 gb in and did not changed anything...my core is running at 2.75...is it me or is that weird?

Could be because of the timings and memory speed. Check that before and after putting the second one in.

The stick that you gave to your buddy is probably the weaker stick and was holding back your OC. What was the OC of the memory? Perhaps when you get it back, try again and see if it happens. Maybe loosening the timings of the RAM might get you more.

AMD has an on die memory controller. The more memory you have on an AMD system the more taxing it is on the controller. I would bet if you ran 1 512 stick it would overclock higher.
Also try loosening up the timings with 2 gigs of ram.

i don't think i want it back cause i have having more success pushing my core farther than before lol...the ram original timings were 3-3-3-8 i believe and i changed it to 3-4-4-8.
