Here's what I have so far, what do you guys think?

Mobo - Asus P5N-E:

Video Card - EVGA 8800GTS:
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814130082

CPU - E6420:
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115016

Total: ~$600

That's all I have so far. I still need to decide on RAM, and I'll use my current PSU until I get enough money for a better one (Looking at this one). I'm going to reuse my SATA HDD, my DVD drive, and my case. What do you guys think?

Assuming you can reuse the optical drive, hard drive, and case, and that you have a copy of Windows around:

$740 w/ shipping.

How many watts does your currents psu have? You might not be able to reuse it.

An AMD? Arn't the C2Ds supposed to be better? I guess it is 1/3 of the Intel...And are you sure Tt is a good PSU maker? BTW sorry for the noobish questions, I've been out of the game for a while.

MoBo, CPU, and Video card all look good. Since you have an SLI board planned, I guess you might want to go SLI in the future. In that case, you might want to consider a more powerful PSU (~650W or so for SLI-ed 8800GTSs).

This is the RAM I would pick:

Let me know if you indeed plan SLI. If not, the XLIO is fine. If yes, you'll need to look further (and more expensive).

I'm not sure if I want SLI or not, I just thought it would be nice to have the option. But I'm sure by the time I can afford to buy another 8800 there will be another card that's twice as powerful and half the price...I doubt I'll ever use SLI, I mainly chose the board for that 1333Mhz FSB support, looked good for overclocking. And also, do you think I could use my 430W PSU with this new rig? I can always buy the rest of the parts now, and then buy a better PSU when I start overclocking later.

430W likely isn't goign to cut if for an 8800GTS...

I was putting together a budget build for you.

I prefer AMD, yes I know c2d is superior, but I am an avid supporter of competition.

ThermalTake is a good brand for cases and power supplies, and I hear that CPU will OC like mad.
