What happened with my x1950pro?

Thread Starter
A few days ago i decided to change the stock heatsink of my x1950pro for an Accelero X2. So i followed the installation instructions that came with the heatsink and in about 30 min my card was ready to go. But when i turned my pc on, some colourful spots appears on the screen. I noticed that this same strange spots appears when trying to play videos an playing games...
I think something went wrong with the hardware of my graphic card...
Any ideas?

Those are artifacts. They occur when your graphics card starts overheating. I would lower your overclock and see if they go away. Also, the Accelero series is meant only as a slightly better solution than stock. I would instead install a Zalman VF900 or similar on the card. Also, make sure that you installed any RAM sinks if there were any.

You may have crushed the core since those temps are more than fine. Try to lower your core/mem by 30mhz in atitool.

your all giving different answers which is just confusing.

Like the first person said its artifacting of sorts. but NOT becuase of overheating. I dont know if youve overclocked But my guess is that youve damaged the memory on the card. Lowering the clock speeds wont help if thats the case.
