My P5K-Deluxe final makes me happy.

Thread Starter
So after several days of tinkering and getting the cooling sorted out my motherboard has answered my request.

Today I was able to hit a stable overclock of 3.5GHz. I've been striving for this since my Evga 680i AR and then my Asus P5N32-E SLI 680i.

I couldn't ever get them to make it happen.

I can get it to load up into windows at 504MHz FSB but I can't get er stable. I believe it's the swiftech mofset coolers I have on the left side mofsets. I have an HR Slant mofset cooler on its way from newegg to be here Monday. The swifties are just too small and not getting enough airflow IMO. They are blazing hot as we speak.

I'll update once it gets here but I just wanted to thank everyone for thier help through my overclocking beginnings. THANK YOU!

Any luck with getting the memory to run at 1T?

I can't at run 1T with a 1:1.

This screws me because of my low multi. If I had an E6400 or E6600 I could do this easy.

I have to run the next to lowest divider to make 1T work for some reason.

If I had the 6600 I could run 400MHz FSB with 960Mem and 1T with 4-4-4-5 timings.

My results listed below:

All memory speeds and timings below are with 4-4-4-5-T1 except for the testing of 533 at 5-5-5-15-T1. I did all testing with 2.35v except for the first try at stability at 533.

266FSB - 533Mem = No post at any relaxed latencies or voltages all the way to 2.4

266FSB - 800Mem = Full stable boot into windows and pulling memory read and latency benchmarks just fine.

350FSB - 700Mem = No post.

350FSB - 840Mem = Full stable boot into windows and pulling memory read and latency benchmarks just fine.

375FSB - 750Mem = No Post

375FSB - 900Mem = Full stable boot into windows and pulling memory read and latency benchmarks just fine.

400FSB – 800Mem = No Post

400FSB – 960Mem = Full stable boot into windows and pulling memory read and latency benchmarks just fine.

So it's very odd. Sadly I couldn't get great bandwidth or latency because my cpu core speed was crippled because I couldn't go over 400MHz FSB because my HZs will not go over 960MHz at T1.

If you have a processor with a higher multi you can use the great memory multipliers and achieve a high cpu overclock while using sub 400MHz FSB speeds.

1T does work on this board. The only catch is I couldn't make it happen with a 1:1 divider.

1T does a little bit for superpi, but nothing in real world apps just for your information

Right but I still can't figure out why it just wont happen at 1:1, but works fine at any other divider.

On the nivdia boards, (680i, 650i) it makes a signifigant difference in all benches.

You have any opinion on why it would be working like this Rob?
That still looks good, atleast you can use the 4:5 divider with no problems, I really wish my dfi would do that but it just cant handle it above 400fsb and even then it is really tough.

Good job on all the testing you did.

1T on P5K Deluxe doesn't do much past 333-350FSB/mhz for me.. stick with 2T and clock it high with tight subtimings
