A new Build within my budget..please come look - Page 11

i like the 1700 one chozart.

but i would drop the cordless desktop. wires=ftw even with laser, its faster, and better for high end graphics work / gaming

g5 + saitek eclipse

get GTX instead of GTS if you want it, still right under $2k

Agreed on the keyboard / mouse

And yes, an 8800GTS would be an option, and still below $2,000

well what i do is give you my mind set and i dont really want yall to post another cart...but thats cool if you REALLY want to. I do say some comments around those lists.. like i went with this because there was no tax...see it was sooo right for me to post that last list...because i spent 2 hours or so looking through 4 different online sites finding the best price at 10 dollars here and 10 dollars there.. I really want to post another list but because you said this chocho i wont...

so the question is do i want to sacrifice my gphx card for 200 dollars, sacrifice the 22 inch for 150 dollars, sacrifice the cpu for 100 dollars and go with a brisbane amd x2. that will bring my rig set up to around 1800 dollars...

so the big question is it worth dropping my standards on the following:
moniter
gphx card
cpu
???

yup

You can post another list Sorry 'bout that. If you just managed to find cheaper parts elsewhere, show it to us.

If you made changes in the picks (for example, different PSU), please tell us briefly why.

No worries

Ok, I am stepping out for about an hour...

now i need to get all this on zipzoomfly.com so i wont have tax and shipping charges =P o ya and I am going to go with the xcilo engine case FTW
i might just go with your older list chocho

wouldnt this card be alot better than that 7xxx series in your list chocho?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130085

then i can run dx10 games..and at a lot faster rates than my x800 xl now.

20" monitor v. 22" monitor doesn't *really* make a lot of difference. 20" monitors mostly use the same resolution (1680 x 1050). Just make sure you get a 20" with that resolution, and you should be fine.

CPU: If you can afford it, I would at least get the E6320. There isn't much difference between the E6600 and the E6320, except stock speed. Dropping all the way down to the X2 3600+ is much more of a performance drop.

GPU: Personaly, I'd get the 8800GTS 640MB. That's the 'sweet spot' imo. Or the ATI HD 2900XT, if you want to put up with some shaky drives for a month or two. These cards are around or just over $400, and that's a nice price for a nice card. I don't really think the extra $160 or so for the 8800GTX is *really* worth it.

Regarding your other post: you're confusing me again.... now you pull up that cheapo rig I posted quite some time ago??? What is your reasoning for that? That rig is ok for the price, but don't expect too much out of it obviously.

dude you know how it is...if i can play dx 10 games on it i want it..

the reason i brought it up is to ask this question...will dx10 games look significantly worse on the cheaper rig than the 6320 with 340 gts?
