A new Build within my budget..please come look - Page 5

cheaper to get two home premium OEM operating systems than one retail, it think that that would even be a better way to look at it. vista is rediculously priced. you can get OSX for about $130 full-featured.

How is two times $111.99 cheaper than one time $219.99?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116142

And, OSX can only be used on Apples (and no, installing it on a PC is NOT legal, so don't go there).

Not sure how the Apple licensing is regarding transfer to a new Apple (not sure what the point it, since I think all Apples come with OSX).

EDIT: yep, the apple license is transferable. Just not at more than one Apple at a time.

wow check this out..no shipping cost for me and no tax!! =)

this is less than other rig i set up and....there is a moniter keyboard and mouse in this one...please comment

not to mention heck of a lot of MIRs

I want to take out this case and buy the xcilo engine, also i want the zalman fan, and go with the gskill instead of these 1066 mhz dimms.. i think this mobo is fine but i may have to do something with the psu i couldnt tell the amps on it... so the 8800 gtx requires atleast 450 watts and 24 amps on a 12v rail? ok well if im going to OC all this what is a good ampage for 1 12v rail and if two rails what for each.

CPU cooler: nope. Where'd the Zalman go? Even the Zalman will be better than that thing you picked now, and it definately looks better.

You don't really listen to us eh Again picking high-speed RAM, while cheaper DDR2 800 RAM will do the job perfectly. ZipZoomFly has these Crucial sticks with LEDs for a nice price:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=80061-32
(they have the same sticks without the LEDs, but those are currently out of stock: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ctCode=80061-9)

Need better PSU, although I believe you gave up on SLI in the future (given the motherboard).
If no SLI, this Corsair will do perfectly fine:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=373100

If SLI is in the future, obviously you'll need a different motherboard, and we can look around for the earlier mentioned Silverstone.

Finally, it's also cheaper since you dropped Vista

Otherwise, looking good.

Hey only thing on that monitor is it is limited to a 60HZ refresh rate. Some poeple dont like that so bear that in mind. Other then that I love mine, it looks really good.

It's an LCD... refresh rates work totally different than on CRTs. And there aren't many LCDs with a different refresh rate than 60.

On a CRT, 60 drives me nuts... on an LCD, I don't notice anything.

Yeah I went from 19 incher with a refresh rate up to 75hz to this thing. It doesnt bug me and I like it alot looks great for gaming and everything I use it for so I am happy with it. And it was cheap.
