Which build would be the best?

A friend an I have been having a little argument about which build he should buy. Right now he is dead set on AMD, I on the other hand are begging him to go Intel.

We have two very similar build. The only differences being the processor and motherboard. On both build he will be overclocking as my as he possibily can.

Which build would be the better overall build?

Truth be told, I think the AMD one is better, Granted the processor isn't as great, I just like his mobo more. So imo, I choose the AMD build.
'bout time.

of the 2 you listed the 3600+

If budget is a priority try this:
http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...Number=4254745

X2 3600+
2 gig 800 mhz G.Skill NQ
biostar tforce 550
(upgrade the 7600 to a 8600 and drop the monitor)
250 gig 7200.10 barracuda
xclio 500 watt psu

If budget isn't a priority (from your case and mb's it isn't) then i'd add $100 get a 6400 or a 6600 (after the july price drop)

I choose the Intel build with the E4300.

If he could scrape up the extra for an E6420 that would be excellent.

Either way I'm sticking to the Intel side, but I haven't been with AMD since my 3200+ and Biostar NF2 Ultra.

save $100 by dropping to a centurion 5 case and then can upgrade to a 6420 or 6600

One thing about this build is that he requires a full tower case... just because of ease of working on it. No exceptions. Also, future water cooling and upgrades will be used.

We had similar thoughts, but I spent the extra money on the GPU instead.

Read my reply above yours. I told you why he requires a full tower case.
