Team 37726 folding points significantly down recently - Page 2

Many of us simply can't or don't want to leave our PCs on

I only leave it on to fold when i have overnight DLs going.

And with summer school starting i'm not home as much so my PC isn't on as much.

Then once i get my job it will be on even less

Yes. Lifestyle can get in the way of folding. Each to his own really !

I'll have my review-test computer up by July. It will sport an E2140, hopefully at 3.2ghz

Then I will have 6 cores running for atleast 5 hours a day.

3800 X2 @2ghz
E6300 @3.4ghz
E2140 @3ghz-3.2ghz

That's too bad our production has gone down . Well, all we can do is move forward and get it back up again . I already decided yesterday that I'm gonna squeeze my rigs some more for speed. Turned my 6400 up from 3.4 to 3.5, and after SMP runs OK for longer I'll go up more. Vmware SMP seems especially fickle about stability, so I wanna give it some time at 3.5, been running since last night though no problem.

I figure since I'll probably get a quad sometime after the price cuts, I'm gonna just push my rigs a little more, screw it . I don't like really going over 1.5v, so I'll see what they can do with just under that, and my temps are good up to those volts no problem. Probably can get close to 3.6ghz on 6400 and 6600 up from around 3.4, and hopefully I can tweak my 4300 higher than it's current 3.25ghz too.

Also finally I've started getting some 2604's, I was getting alot of 2608 and 9 WU's, take longer and less points. You think maybe that has something to do with our production? Have other teams productions gone down as well? I've also heard in the folding forum itself, that point adjustments are probably on the way. We may have to get used to different amount of points.

I have noticed this and it worries me. It has been a very long time since i've seen our graph pointing down .Why do we have so many inactive folders?

I have recently got SMP to work, and I realize that I can pump out 1500-1800ppd.

Now, just being curious. Of the 10 top folding teams, 9 of them are on a downward trend.

On a side note. I think we need to better advertise what folding is. I know when I was a new member, I never knew about folding for like 3 months. I thin k if we had a bigger more obvious banner, it would entice more of our new members.

I personally have 1 of my quads down due to having to RMA a mobo. It is one of my native linux boxes so it realy hurts my numbers. By mid week I will have it back up along with another quad I got to test with the P35 chipset.

I think a lot of people pick it up and drop it really fast, especially the newer people to the forum who don't feel like they "belong" to overclock.net much yet.

I would but with only one core it tends to get in my way to much and im more about reducing usage of PC's to help the enviroment not keep my CPU at 100%
