new games are getting more demanding on your PC.the developers sacrifice playability for graphics quality.

I think that they should lower the price of the hardware that you need to play the games. It does take them a lot of money to come up with a new video card or CPU but how much does it cost to realy make the cards and CPUs.I dont think that a 8800GTX is realy worth the $400 price tag.more like 200-300.I mean if they lowerd the price they would sell a lot more, then the low end cards would be even lower and sell EVEN MORE.Also i like game play a lot more than graphics.I play BF2 (on all high setting)and i find my self getting board after half an hour,I then fire up my old SNES and play some zelda link to the past for and hour or two wich i find to be a lot more fun. Also what about crysis?all they ever talk about is GRAPHICS GRAPHICS GRAPHICS what about the story line?all i know about crysis is that it has good graphic, has aliens, and needs like a $2000 computer to play it on hight settings.

Sorry for the spelliing i know that its sucks.

well i think my problem is when i am playing games i cant stand to see jaggy edges, so i bump up my resolution to 1440 X 900 but that requires alot of power. So my opternon and 8800 in source for example only gets about 70 fps average. so i would prefer games to have good graphics but game play deffinatly needs to be a must

I think that graphics HAVE been good, but recently there's just a point where graphics are GOOD ENOUGH. Games like SSBM looked as good as they need to be, and don't NEED to try to beef things up beyond human recognition. We've hit the necessary mark, so it's time to come up with games that actually touch on NEW IDEAS.

You wont stop the wheel.. Artist wont stop adding polygons and higher textures maps because of some gamers. They're paid to push everything.

Everything that a game company does is done because of "some gamers". Imagine if no one bought a game with many polys, and everyone bought new copies of CS instead? Whether or not that happens, companies would look at a bar graph and go "Um...yeah, let's NOT do that anymore."

they dont do games for some gamers who dont want to upgrade is computer because he think thats enough (otherwise just buy a Wii), they do this for people who want perfection and realism. I know it can be expansive. Its all about industry competition and technology.
