Are New Games Too Demanding ? - Page 4

next thing you know it will seem like you are really in the game.the graphics will look so good that you will think its 100% real with no jaggies and the textures will be hectic.like if you are holding a gun in real life,it will look the same in the game with all the shades and depth being exactly spot on.damn.

PC hardware is super expensive, I just spent like 180$ on my graphics card and it's going to be worthless in less than a year. It cant even run Oblivion smooth at 720p, so I don't know how it's going to run any fancy new games.

People ask "Why not buy a console than?"

Because a console can't hold 1000 hours of video like my PVR, consoles also cant record studio quality music, that's why I stick with my PC.

the thing about a console is that the graphics become outdated.take the ps2 for eg.-the graphics were great when it came out,but 2 years later it looked so bad that i didnt wanna play anymore.

I know i don't take much time admiring the scenery in game , well at first i do , but after , all I want to do is put a bullet between someones eye's or beat a lap record and so on

That's my point , game play is way more important than looks ( to me anyways ) I just wish programmers spent more time dreaming up new ways and story lines to play a game , and less time worrying about the the graphic out come of a rock on the floor , that gives me 5 fps less as it has dramatic lighting hehe

We have games out now that will run on most PCs under full settings , the graphics are great , as is the game play , so why do they keep making it harder for people to be able to play these newer games ?

Vote game play is what I'm saying lol

I agree that games are looking more and more realistic, but there are still certain things that really show we haven't made progress. Screenshots always look great in a game, but that's because you don't see animation. Even the recent Assassin's Creed trailer had some pretty shoddy animating samples, and many characters are animated as if it's still the year 2000. Nothing is smooth, people skip keyframes, etc.

Also, people's faces are still not very convincing at all. Half-Life 2 was the only recent game to come anywhere NEAR actual face animating, as opposed to like 2 or 3 facial muscless, and even that didn't really animate people's faces all the time how they would look in real life.

Conclusion: You are NOT going to get a real-life look, so stop trying.

Maybe you haven't seen the Crysis screenshots, that s*** be lookin' like real life. Im about 546% sure that games will one day look like real life, ten years from now we'll be playing VR, then the Matrix will be made and the robots take over.....Profits have fortold these events.......The makers of The Matrix. I can't wait to meet Neo.

Im sorry but it aint true... look the evolution since 1990. New software like XSI are going to put on the market a programs for normal mapping animation. I've seen a presentation of it and for a beginning its just amazing. If you think HL2 was amazing for this, just hold on.

As for Assassin's Creed the game isnt even on alpha yet so yes it have fps issues these thing are reworked on the alpha version.

I think that graphics will stop getting better soon,Becuase there will be a point where it looks to real and i think some one will step in (like the school board and there G@* @$$),I could see some stupid ideit "OO i thought that i was playing a game" after he shoots up a bank or school or somthing.

I'm wishing for this. Seems 85-90% of recent releases don't hold up well in the content area.

I make trips to the local game store every other week and I've yet to see something that drew me in... the last limb I went out on was STALKER and that got boring real quick..
