First OC (XFX 7600 GT AGP)

Thread Starter
Hey guys, well this is my first OC and I wanna pump out the maximum juice I can from my 7600 GT (with stock cooling). I'd love to get some advice from you pros

I looked on the web and found out some info concerning video card OCs. I downloaded coolbits and rivatuner. First of all I used the nvidia CP I and the "optimal parameters" button to automatically find good starting values. Core clock went from 560 MHz to 610 and mem clock went from 700 MHz to 750.

Now, I want to go slowly. What I think I'm going to do is launch C&C3 and max out the settings to stress the GPU. I'll make a game, then alt-tab and up my core clocks by shots of 5 MHz, each time going back in the game to check any artifacts. When I'll reach the point when I'll see artifacts I'll lower the clock by 10 MHz and do the same with the memory.

Am I on the right track? Thanks!

EDIT: oh, and currently my idle temp is around 51 C and it goes near the 60s when on load.

When I keep the "scan for artifacts" test running my temp keeps getting higher and higher :O...

It's at 68 C now and seems stable... but it keeps upping a little bit as I type.
