Im thinking about getting a sound card and was wondering whats best for me. I listen to a lot of music on my pc and i have logitech 5.1 x530s. I also game quite a bit (css) and I cant stand my onboard sound. I have 80 dollars now and can get more but I would like to keep it cheap.

Thanks in advance guys

You could go with an audigy 2zs or 4 on ebay. They are selling pretty cheep these days. If you wanted something new I would go with an X-FI. There made by creative and theres many different variations. Don't bother spending extra money on the Fatal1ty versions. There a waste IMO.

The X-Fi Xtrememusic at frys is defintely the best deal you are going to see right now for $69. Sometimes newegg has a rebate to go along with the X-Fi Xtremegamer that drops it down to 50 bucks so if you have the patience to wait, you could do that. The Xtrememusic is a very similar card to the Xtremegamer but both are basic cards without extra crap you don't need and are awesome for gaming. Also keep in mind that you can mod the Xtrememusic to sound better.

yea i wont mod anything cause im not experienced enough with that stuff. I read somewhere that the xtremegamer is a "real" XFI and that the xtrememusic isnt. Anything that I should be worrying about?

Not true. The Xtremeaudio is the only "non-X-Fi" X-Fi
