My new RBX top arrived

Hey guys I know it aint much but I thought I would post up my new RBX top that I got from DD yesterday. I havnt put it in the loop yet probably wont be till later this week since I gotta drain my system a little and all that stuff. I only wish they would make the brass part to have the mounting holes instead of having the acrylic top to go on it. Other then that it looks allright I think. Once I get it going I will post some results of that combined with my heatercore and see how it performs. I used some old fans that I cut out the center as a type of shroud for the fans, later on I may add two more for a push pull type of setup but for now I just got them pushing. I will have this running with the first version of the D5 pump that I got years ago and will be cooling the cpu and chipset on my quadgt with a 6400 fro right now.

Yeah well I have had it for years, used it on my 939 setups and it performed really well considering its a old design. Hopefully itll be able to handle the 6400 well. I think it will do allright.

Looks good...Are you going to use a double in res for it or just Y it back in?

Umm not really sure, I dont have a res setup now and wanted to just use a fillport and fillport line res that I have. I do have room for a res if I needed to use one to get better performance. I am putting this in my old UFO case that I have had not doing anything.
Do you think it would be worth it to use a res or just use the Y adaptor.

Now that I think about it if I am cooling the chipset then I will need to go with a Y adapter or I would have to go to the chipset first which I guess I could do but is not very conventional. I need to cool this chipset since the quad likes to run with around 1.55 to 1.6 vmch and it runs pretty hot. It helps with stability alot for this mobo.

Sounds like a plan.I ran my v8 into a double in res and replaced the 240BIX with a 480GTX and I only dropped 1psi..I was running at 10psi with the BIX and a V-6..So I really don't know if it was the res or the GTX or the V-8 but I didn't get much pressure drop...

How do you like the quad? They don't get a high fsb like the dual-cores do they? The reason I ask is I might have to jump ship if the AM3 are cold-bugged like the AM2 seem to be...

Sorry for the confusion I mean the quadgt from abit, I will be using a dual core 6400 with it. I havenot gotten a chance to try out a quadcore yet, I may think about picking up a q66 when the prices drop but I dont know how well my phase would be able to handle it unless I kept the volts down. May have to wait for the 45nm version with lower watts output.

Yeah I bet they have a heck of a heat dump..A guy was asking about putting a 437W Pelt on one the other day and I told him he would probably be better off to look around for a phase unit for it.....They are kind of expensive and I've heard you cant get a high fsb on them I might have to try one to after the price comes down some....
